You will not find tablature to your favorite songs here as this site does not exist to teach you specific songs. You can find here instructions on how to read tablature. Rather, you can find here the foundations upon which most music on guitar is based. To put it another way, it is likely that your favorite guitarists know this material inside and out. If you wish to advance yourself as a guitarist, so should you. These really are basic principles, yet upon these simple concepts much modern music has been written.

Note to intermediate guitarists

Although you may be well versed in most of these teachings, you may still find benefit in going through the tutorials. You will find that revisting these basics will show you an appreciation for the difficulty in playing simple techniques. Try switching between Am - Dm - F chords flawlessy at a medium tempo and you may see what I mean.

You may also find benefit going through the resource links within each section. These links lead to further study in the specific tutorials area of study, often at an advanced level.

A note to all guitarists

Although this site does contain quite a large amount of information on playing the guitar which may be useful to beginners, it is certainly no substitute for a qualified tutor. A qualified tutor can monitor progress as well as help target specific areas for improvement.

This site cannot make you a better guitar player. Only years and years of practice will make you a great guitar player. This site can provide you with information to study, but only by studying and practicing will you improve. The better you practice, the more quickly you will improve and the better you will be as a guitarist.

The best way to learn guitar is to supliment knowledge with experience. So learn the techniques and then listen to your favorite music. Try to imitate what you hear and see how the basic fundamentals are being applied by your favorite artists. Develop an ear for music and learn to play what sounds right.
